Roesy

Big Year

What a year it’s been. I moved to Melbourne, became a Dad, studied graphic design, had some truly memorable gigs and next week I get to play a number of shows at The Woodford Folk Festival in Queensland from Dec 26th – Jan 1st, one of the biggest annual cultural events in Australia. To place a cherry nicely on top I’ve been invited to be interviewed on ABC Radio National which will be broadcast across Australia on New Years Day.

I can comfortably say that twelve months on I have found my feet in this amazing country and the calender is being filled regularly with gigs and a healthy assortment of weird and wonderful outings and innings which is always the aim for me in a new land.

Thank you for all your support throughout this year. Have a great Christmas and an amazing New Year.

(As ever your purchases directly supports independent music and art)

The Fable Tour

The Fable Tour, to kick off the new album begins April 23rd in my hometown at Birr Theatre and Arts Centre and will continue through the country into late May. (See the Shows page for more details).

Fable will be available at all the live shows and via roesy.net from April 23rd.

I’m excited to announce that joining me on guitar for the tour will be Albert Niland, who also guests on the new album

Now We Mix

The album files have been couriered to New York and myself and Barry Teehan (who has co-produced and engineered this album with me from start to finish) leave tomorrow for the mix which starts next Monday.

I love this stage of the album process and I’m immensely happy and excited about this album. All the late nights and endless hours of little sunlight are coming to an end and at this stage now I’m craving interaction with people again.

While I’m in New York I’m doing 4 shows and will be exhibiting my paintings at Bru na Bo Gallery in Long Island. I have the paintings here in front of me ready to be packed and the frames are waiting on the other end.

Before returning home I’ve been invited to the Paul Newman founded Hole In The Wall Gang Camp,  a summer camp for kids living with serious illness to do a songwriting workshop so that should be a special experience and a very welcome grounding.
